The topic that I plan on researching is child soldiers. Why
and how are they used for war? Therefore, it somewhat relates to “Cultural Interest”.
I’m not sure who exactly I could interview for this topic. That’s something I’ll
have to talk to Ms. James about. I did a project in marketing loosely related
to women in foreign countries that are in extreme poverty and have been through
horrific situations. Child soldiers relates to that subject. I already know
some information about child soldiers in Uganda, but the information that I don’t
know outweighs the things I do know. I would like to learn about how the children
get pulled into it, the things that they go through, and how common it is to
have child soldiers throughout the world. I plan to get information mostly from
online resources. This topic is personally meaningful because when I think
about child soldiers, I think about somebody the age of my little brother or
younger having to see and go through things that will scar them forever.
That's a very interesting topic. Whenever I was still at Kickapoo they had a group of people come in and talk about children in Africa being taken from their homes and forced into fighting. I'm not quite sure what this organization was called, but it's awesome how some people are doing something about it. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting topic. This just shows how much of a great relationship that you and your brother have and that is great.
ReplyDeleteThe topic of children in Africa is always a heart-touching one. Children as soldiers is just not something I could even fathom due to the world that we experience as children here in the U.S. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteDo you plan on researching child soldiers from all over the world?
ReplyDeleteYes ma'am!
DeleteI cant imagine sending my cousins to war to see those things. This will be a very interesting topic!
ReplyDeleteHow did you come up with this topic? I think it is interesting. The idea of someone so young fighting in a war is scary. I'd be interested in knowing how they prepare them to face something like that.
ReplyDeleteThat is a really unique topic; I've never heard of children going to war! More like that's never crossed my mind. If you follow through with this topic, i'd be really interested in your presentation
ReplyDeleteChild soldiers is a very interesting and sad topic to do. Have you seen American Sniper, cause I tell ya that can relate to your topic so much. Very cool, I hope everything goes well for that.!!
ReplyDeleteThinking about young kids being involved in wars makes me really sad, it's hard to imagine a child being forced to experience something like that. I think you have a good topic and you'll be able to find some really interesting and meaningful information.
ReplyDeleteI like the subject. I feel it will really bring to light what is going on in the world. follow your heart, Akane.
ReplyDeleteThe entire child soldiers topic is really rather depressing to think about, and it's just absolutely devastating to think what some of the those children will see and go through. Really interested to see more.
ReplyDeleteThis is a really cool topic Akane. I cant wait to read your paper.
ReplyDeletethis topic is vary international and also has been repeated in history many times. the Main case I know is from the Congo and also Cambodia. You can also talk to Mrs.Tate as she also knows a lot about this topic too.
